What is serpente.io
serpente.io is a snake .io game that runs right in your browser, with no download and no sign-up. You control a snake in a huge arena full of energy and other snakes.
The goal is to eat as much as you can, grow, trap your rivals and reach the top of the leaderboard. When a snake dies, its body turns into food for whoever gets there first.
Controls
- On a computer: move the mouse to steer. Hold the left mouse button or the space bar to boost.
- On the keyboard: use the arrow keys to steer. C changes the color, P pauses and Esc goes back to the menu.
- On a phone or tablet: touch anywhere and drag like a joystick to steer. To boost, hold the lightning button or touch with a second finger.
Rules
- Touching another snake's body or the arena border with your head ends your game.
- Boosting makes your snake a little shorter and leaves a trail of food.
- If a snake dies by hitting your body, you get a kill bonus.
- In a head-on crash, the much bigger snake survives and the smaller one dies.
- Every now and then a golden feast appears on the map. It shows up on the minimap.

Make their head hit your body. Cut in front of them, circle around them or pin them against the border.

Boosting costs a bit of your length. Use it at the right moment, to escape or to close a trap.
Does the game lag?
The game is built to run light. On a slower device, choose Light quality in the settings.
Is my record saved?
Yes. Your history and the leaderboard are saved in this browser, and you can see the daily, monthly and all-time top in Records.
